Texture is either actual or implied.
Actual texture is physically able to be felt through our sense of touch. Implied texture gives the impression of texture visually, but cannot be felt by touch. It is only suggested by our eyes. In graphic art and design I use texture that is implied. Implied texture is created through the use of value. In the project following I applied the above information. Using multiple steps in Adobe Illustrator I created monster characters that demonstrate texture. In each element of this process I considered value and its gradual contrast change. |
